Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services Limited is now ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited by Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS).

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is the internationally-accepted quality standard for testing and calibration laboratories. This standard specifies general requirements for competence to carry out tests and/or calibrations.  The standard includes explicit requirements for continual improvement of the management system itself, and particularly customer service.

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is the internationally-accepted quality standard for testing and calibration laboratories.

Accreditation is the only real attestation of the competence of laboratories to perform specific tests (scope of accreditation). It is through the accreditation that the laboratory’s clients can have confidence that the test has been done competently. Once tested, the results are accepted in all markets.

Kenya Accreditation Service

KENAS is the sole organization authorized to operate laboratory accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025 standard in Kenya.

KENAS is admitted as an ILAC MRA signatory for Testing (ISO/ IEC 17025) and IAF (International Accreditation Forum) MLA (Multi-Lateral Arrangement) signatory for Management System Certification. ILAC and IAF are umbrella organizations that oversee accreditation activities at a global level.

The signatories all over the world recognize certificates, reports and results issued by organizations accredited by other signatories.

Accreditation to ISO 17025 by a reputable accreditation provider demonstrates competence and independence.

Accreditation status must be renewed regularly and the laboratory challenged each time to maintain and improve the quality. It is for this reason that Crop Nutrition Laboratory (CropNuts) has renewed its accreditation in March 2016.

CropNuts’ current schedule of tests covered by ISO 17025 accreditation can be found on the KENAS  website and also from our website

Continuous Improvement

In order to maintain this status, CropNuts management has passionately invested in stringent internal quality control measures to ensure consistency of results of all the procedures undertaken by the laboratory.

The laboratory also performs periodic calibration and day to day verification of the test equipment, and validation of the test methods. This is a costly practice that the management is dedicated to maintain in order to ensure the quality of all tests.

It is an accomplishment to be accredited; it is an ACHIEVEMENT to maintain accreditation. Looking forward to serving all our clients with world-class excellence and quality lab services

Happy Easter!
